Also known as the butterfly palm, this popular house plant with arching, wide, glossy fronds. Small yellow flowers may appear in the summer. It is easy to grow, and one of the best house plants for air purifying.
Watering
From spring to autumn allow the top of the soil to dry between watering, reduce watering in the winter so the soil is nearly fully dry. Mist every day or two and stand on a tray of pebbles to help with humidity.
Feeding
Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer 2-3 times during the growing season, spring to autumn.
Planting and Care
Set in filtered light and away from heaters in winter, remove dead fronds at the base, and repot every 3 years in spring if pot bound.
