There is a huge variety of cacti, mostly living in hot and dry weather. They are succulent which means they store their own water.
They only need watering when the soil completely dry and let excess water drain off.
When fertilizing use a succulent and cactus fertilizer, once a month during the summer.
Plant in succulent and cactus soil. They will be happiest in bright direct light.
