Description
Info
This plant is native to Africa and can grow up to 1.3 metres tall and spread 2 – 3 metres wide. Its leaves ae remarkably like banana leaves. The Plant flowers between April and November but may not appear until it is about 4 -5 years old.
Watering
This plant will only need watering when the top two inches of the soil are dry. Water enough to saturate the soil fully but be careful to not overwater.
Feeding
Fertilize once every two weeks during spring and summer but do not feed during winter.
Planting and Care
Plant in a high-quality potting mix. The Bird of Paradise will need re-potting every 3 years or when pot bound.
Not enough light and moisture means the flower may never bloom.
